National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS)
Established in 1972, the NCJRS is a federally funded resource offering justice and drug-related information to support research, policy, and program development worldwide.
National Institute of Corrections (NIC)
NIC provides training, technical assistance, information services, and policy/program development assistance to federal, state, and local corrections agencies. They also provide leadership to influence correctional policies, practices, and operations nationwide in areas of emerging interest and concern to correctional executives and practitioners as well as public policymakers.
National Parole Resource Center (NPRC)
NPRC serves as a source of information, training, and technical assistance for paroling authorities and the supervising agencies that they oversee and with whom they collaborate.
National PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Resource Center (PRC)
The PRC’s aim is to provide assistance to those responsible for state and local adult prisons and jails, juvenile facilities, community corrections,lockups, tribal organizations, and inmates and their families in their efforts to eliminate sexual abuse in confinement.
National Reentry Resource Center
Funded and administered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance, the NRRC is the nation’s primary source of information and guidance in reentry.
The National Resource Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention
The National Resource Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention offers resources and technical assistance to states, tribes, territories, and local communities to promote the overall well-being of children, youth, and their families. They believe that, with the right resources and support, all communities – regardless of their ZIP code – can promote positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.
National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated
The mission of the National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated at Rutgers Camden is to raise awareness about the needs and concerns of the children of the incarcerated and their families by:
• Disseminating accurate and relevant information and research
• Guide the development of family strengthening policy and practice
• Train, prepare, and inspire those working in the field and
• Include the families in defining the issues and designing solutions
National Resource Center on Justice Involved Women (NRCJIW)
The mission of the NRCJIW is to provide guidance and support to criminal justice professionals – and to promote evidence-based, gender-responsive policies and practices – in order to reduce the number and improve the outcomes of women involved in the criminal justice system.
Substance Abuse Health and Services Administration (SAMSHA)
SAMHSA is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA’s mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.
Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)
The mission of CSAP is to improve behavioral health through evidence-based prevention approaches.
Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)
The mission of the CSAT is to promote community-based substance abuse treatment and recovery services for individuals and families in every community. CSAT provides national leadership to improve access, reduce barriers, and promote high quality, effective treatment and recovery services.
Addiction Group: Treatment and Recovery
Addiction Group is an informational web guide created for people struggling with substance use disorders (SUD), alcohol use disorders (AUD), and co-occurring mental health disorders. A team of journalists, researchers, doctors, and medical professionals helps people find the right treatment for their individual needs and unique situations.
National Center for Trauma-Informed Care (NCTIC)
NCTIC works to eliminate the use of seclusion, restraints, and other coercive practices and to develop the knowledge base on trauma-informed care.
National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence (NCDSV)
NCDSV designs, provides, and customizes training and consultation, influences policy, promotes collaboration, and enhances diversity with the goal of ending domestic and sexual violence.
National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD)
Since 1907, NCCD has been applying research to policy and practice in criminal justice, juvenile justice, and child welfare. By formulating innovative approaches to public safety and advising hundreds of agencies on effective and cost-efficient policies, strategies, and programs, their studies and policy recommendations continue to revolutionize the field.
