As you registered for the event, CMCA indicated (see below) that if the Angola tour is cancelled CMCA will make arrangements for a tour of New Orleans. Here are the details:
Breakfast: On your own. See button below for map to local restaurants (Pontilly’s, Walmart nearby).
8:30 AM CHECK IN: Outside the Luther Student Center before boarding the coach bus.
9:00 AM DEPART: Coach Buses will depart promptly. If you are not on the bus by 9:00 AM, we will assume you are not joining us on the New Orleans Tour.
9:30—Noon TOUR: Guests will explore the best of New Orleans by coach with a Professional Tour Guide.
Noon – 1:45 LUNCH: On your own. You have many wonderful local restaurant options. See button below. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS with the restaurant of your choice.
2:00 PM RETURN: Coach Buses will depart promptly to return back to NOBTS by 2:30 pm.
DINNER: On your own (NOBTS cafeteria is CLOSED). See button below for map to local restaurants.
7:30-8:30 PM Registration & Exhibits Open (Luther Student Center).
FAQ
Why was the Angola tour cancelled?
Working in corrections, we all understand that at times programs are cancelled. We do not know the specific reasons behind the warden’s decision.
How do I get my partial reimbursement?
You will receive a refund of $25 before the date of the tour.
What if I don’t want to go on the tour?
You are free to opt out of the tour but there is no transportation reimbursement.

CMCA will charter a bus to Angola and organize a tour of the Louisiana State Penitentiary. NOTE: You must attend the CMCA 2022 Summit to participate in the trip to Angola.

The Angola trip is our priority, but the warden has the right to cancel the tour at any time. We have made a financial commitment with the transportation provider, which we will have to honor. Full refunds are available before the registration/cancellation deadline of April 15th. If the Angola trip is cancelled after April 15th, each registrant will receive a $25 refund along with the New Orleans tour. We recognize that this not ideal, and appreciate your understanding that we are doing our best to make this trip possible.

Do I need to be fully vaccinated to go on the tour? As of today, no. If this changes we will email directly those registered for the tour and post the changes on the Summit Information Page and this page.
If the Angola trip is cancelled what if I do not want to go on the New Orleans tour? You do not have to go on the New Orleans Tour, but you will only receive a $25 refund along with the New Orleans tour.
What is your refund policy for those denied entrance because of a felony? Anyone with a felony record who is denied entry will be given a full refund.
What if I want to drive and meet you at Angola? Please register for the Angola Tour and type a note into the registration form that you will meet us at the gate. You will still need to pay for the trip because you will have a reserved seat on our rented coach which will be the mode of transportation inside the facility.
